An interesting CBC article on solar windows, shingles and cladding.

Can they produce as much power as traditional solar panels?

Andreas Athienitis, a researcher at Concordia University in Montreal who studies BIPV, said that while asphalt shingles typically last about 15 years, solar panels can last 30 years, with only a small decrease in inefficiency.

Tesla's Solar Roof is expected to be available in Canada later this year.

Install photovoltaic solar panels to convert sunlight energy into electricity and get up to $5,600 back through the Greener Homes Grant.

You must book & have an energy audit before doing any upgrades to your home.
Unfortunately, only 700,000 grants are available for all of Canada.

We recommend taking action asap.

Please call Waterloo Energy @ 519-648-9977 for additional information on how to get started!

1. How long will it run?

2. How long to recharge?

3. How much power?

CNN just published an interesting article about a company that wants to turn your windows into solar panels

CNN just published an interesting article about a company that wants to turn your windows into solar panels. This Redwood City, California-based startup, thinks that their technology can transform your windows into solar panels. "It can be applied to windows of skyscrapers; it can be applied to glass in automobiles; it can be applied to the glass on your iPhone," Miles Barr, Ubiquitous Energy's founder and chief technology officer, told CNN Business. Ubiquitous Energy believes that its solar windows will complement traditional rooftop panels instead of replacing them. The combination of both methods may bring the net energy consumption of large buildings to zero. Meaning they produce as much electricity as they consume. Click the link to see the article.
